On April 9, 2016 the ΔΦΕ Lone Star Alumnae Association was officially chartered! #UnicornDay
This was an exciting day filled with DPhiE passion because we were able to charter during Engage U Texas. Engage U is a leadership conference held in regional areas focused on chapter and personal growth. This is the first time that an Engage U has been held in Texas which seemed like the perfect time to charter the association!
All three Texas chapters, IHQ, and Association members converged on the Schreiner University campus to share experiences, knowledge, and sisterly love! One of the sessions that stood out was the first breakout with Nicole Defeo, Executive Direction of the Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority. She covered many topics, but she brought everything together with our shared DPhiE heritage. It was an insightful breakout that opened up the attendees and created an environment free of judgement.
Engage U Texas was a wonderful time to be a DPhiE because it brought together so many varied DPhiEs. Undergraduates and graduates, volunteers and IHQ staff, but we all had the common thread of our sisterhood.
As Engage U Texas came to a close, the association members gathered together to snap a few pictures, throw what they know, and chat before our big moment: Chartering! It was the moment we had been working for and it did no disappoint. We were not only joined by IHQ but by the collegiate women in attendance. It was incredibly special to share that moment with so many sisters encouraging us and supporting us in this transition.
Thank you to our International Headquarters for investing in Texas! We would like to thank Maureen Anderson, Director of Alumnae Services at IHQ for everything that you did for us. We couldn't have done it without you.
Thank you to the women on our charter and who attended the chartering!! It was an amazing accomplishment and we would not be here without each and every one of you!
Best wishes and Congrats! We did it!!
